| Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota has offered an after-school and summer program in partnership with Southern Hills United Methodist Church since 1999. The Southern Hills After-School Program also became the first South Dakota after-school program to be accredited by the National After-School Association in 2005. Conveniently located across the street from the John Harris Elementary, staff meet the children after school each day and safely walk them across the street to after-school care at Southern Hills United Methodist Church. The Southern Hills facility is well suited to after-school and summer programming. In addition to two classroom areas and an outdoor, fenced playground, the program has access to a large gym equipped with recreational equipment. Southern Hills after-school hours are Monday through Friday from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m. The program is also open on many days that school is closed and on holiday break from 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please view our parent handbook for further detailed information including Mission Statement and important policies. |
